Birth of Texture 001 — 30 × 40 Inch Painting

Birth of Texture 001 is the first painting completed using what I now call Texture 001 — a surface technique that completely changed the way I approach painting.

When I finished this piece, something about it felt different. It wasn’t just another painting. It was the moment I realized the texture process actually worked. The surface had depth, movement, and a physical presence that kept pulling my eyes back to it.

After finishing it, I stored the painting in the back of my storage space for nearly a year. But every time I walked past it, I caught myself stopping to look. Again and again. That’s when I knew the idea had real potential.

This piece represents the beginning — the moment a new visual language started to form in the studio.

Birth of Texture 001 is both an original artwork and the origin point of the Texture series.
